Category I: Programs with Accredited Sponsorship

  • Health services College credit = 1 CME per Semester hour awarded
  • BLS 3 CME (For Initial or Recertification)
  • ACLS 8 CME for initial
  • ACLS 4 CME for Recertification
  • AAOS
  • TCOPA
  • NOAT

Category II: Medical Teaching Grand Rounds & Presentations

  • Taught 1 hour class to ER staff on Splinting
  • Taught 1 hour class on at Annual conference for OPA-Cs
  • Writing Approved OPA-C test questions (1 CME per approved question)
    • Contact NBCOPA for approved formatting
      • Must have 4 answers, only 1 correct answer and must have a reference for each question
  • No credit awarded for prep of teaching

Category III: Books, Papers, Publications

  • Must submit published work with citation.
    • 0.5 CME per page (about 500 words)

Category IV: Medical Administrative CMEs (Max 15 CME in Cat IV)

  • Courses - Must be documented the length of time spent attending course
    • HIPAA (Max .05 CME per course)
    • Ethics  (Max 1 CME per course)
    • Coding (Max 5 CME)
    • EHR (Max 5 CME)
